Adam and Eve statues at Pathfoot building

Community Groups

We warmly encourage visits from community groups, you are welcome to bring groups to the Pathfoot Building at anytime. However, we recognise that visiting a gallery in a University may present many barriers for groups. We provide guided visits for groups of all sizes, ages and needs. Please get in touch with us to discuss how we can best welcome your group to the Collection.

Typical examples of visits include:

  • Warm Welcome - a quick introduction and hello to the building
  • Exhibition Tour - a highlights tour of the current exhibitions
  • Activity - guided in-gallery activities such as sketching, lino-print etc. inspired by the exhibitions

We have worked with a variety of groups to encourage as wide a demographic as possible to engage with the Art Collection:

  • Inside Outside: This powerful and hard hitting exhibition was the result of an initiative undertaken by the Encompass Network involving women working inside the sex industry and it provided a rare insight into their hidden world.
  • Create and Curate: Women at Cornton Vale Prison – just two miles from the University campus – were involved in this project, backed by funding from Scottish Government agency Education Scotland. They have been created their own artworks and curated an exhibition using works loaned from the University’s art collection
  • Unpacked: Home from Home: This was a collaboration between the University Art Collection, artist Brigid Collins, women who fled Syria who are now settled in Falkirk and Stirling, and students of the Creative Writing MLitt at Stirling. Designed as a platform for storytelling, the inspiration for the installation piece, in this case, was the hope of unpacking individual stories of refugee experience and doing so in a community.
  • Artlink Central
The Art Collection has worked on several projects in collaboration with ArtLink Central.
This includes ArtReach, an annual summer school for adults with learning difficulties,
and ArtSpace which is a group of adults with mental health issues.
