The ESRC Festival of Social Science is an annual celebration of the social sciences and a key element of ESRC’s commitment to promote awareness of UK social science research to new audiences. The festival is being held from 18 October to 8 November 2025.

The theme for 2025 is "Our Working Lives" - exploring the relationship between humans and digital technology.

The University of Stirling is proud to be taking part in the festival and to help our local community explore and celebrate the world of social sciences. We will be putting on a mix of virtual and face-to-face events, held across Stirling and central Scotland, allowing everyone to take part in, and hear about, social science research. All events are free to the public and promise a fun and informative time for all ages.

The festival programme is supported by the Stirling Social Science Impact Acceleration Account, which promotes the social science research collaborations with partners and communities.

Our events are part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science 2025 and were made possible thanks to funding from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), which is part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).
