'Diwali' also called Deepavali (Dīpāvalī) or Deepawali (Dīpāwalī) is the Hindu festival of lights, with variations celebrated in other Indian religions such as Jainism and Sikhism. It symbolises the spiritual victory of Dharma over Adharma, light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. Diwali is celebrated during the Hindu lunisolar months of Ashvin (according to the amanta tradition) and Kārtika (between mid-September and mid-November).The celebrations generally last five or six days!

This year Diwali will be celebrated on the 20 October so join us from 7:00 to enjoy traditional bites, music, and dance. Diwali is a time for exchanging gifts so please feel free to bring an item, fully wrapped, and swap for a beautiful parcel with another in exchange. Traditional dress is encouraged if you have this. If you do not, we would love you to show support for the celebration by dressing in something of yellow, orange, or red colour to symbolise fire and light!
