Mid-Autumn Festival (Zhongqiu Jie, 中秋节), also known as the Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival, is celebrated in Chinese culture. It is the second most important festival in China after Chinese New Year. During Mid-Autumn Festival, families reunite, celebratory dinners are had, mooncakes are eaten, the moon is worshipped and paper lanterns lit.
This year, Mid-Autumn Festival will take place on Monday 6 October and we would love you to join us in the Atrium between 12:00 and 14:00 to celebrate. Open to all students, staff and the local community, expect visual displays, traditional giveaways, and crafty workshops, such as lantern making, on the day. Traditional dress encouraged or feel free to wear the colour red!
