About

Jo graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a BSc (Hons) in Geography before working in financial services as a graduate trainee. She later undertook a Postgraduate Diploma in Careers Guidance at Edinburgh Napier University before working as a Careers Adviser with school pupils and school leavers in Stirling and Northumberland.

Since 2003 Jo has worked as a careers professional in Higher Education, firstly at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen before joining the University of Stirling Careers and Employability Service. During this time, she has supported careers education activities with students within the Faculties of Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, and Health Sciences and Sport, delivered various careers management and work-based learning modules, and supported students through 1 to 1 guidance.

In her current role, Jo is the main point of contact for colleagues in Stirling Management School working across the faculty providing support to deliver more opportunities for students studying business-related subjects to engage with the business community through their studies. Jo works to develop relationships between employers and academic colleagues to increase the range of WBL opportunities including live student projects, business challenges and sector insights.

As a member of the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS) and Institute of Student Employers, Jo continues to keep very up to date with new recruitment practices and the constant changes happening in the workplace.

Jo's years of business engagement within the Forth Valley area have enabled her to develop great links between the University and local business networks and SMEs, benefitting both students and the local economy.
