The University of Stirling has forged strong partnerships both at home and further afield. We've teamed up with a range of international institutions to offer a selection of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees which are taught, in part or entirely, overseas. It's what makes us a truly global university.

Partnerships in eastern Asia

University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences

The University of Stirling’s Doctor of Management (DMan) programme, jointly delivered with the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (UCASS) is one of the first Sino-UK DMan programmes to have been approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education.

The DMan immerses our students in cutting-edge interdisciplinary research – equipping them with the practical and theoretical skills they need to find innovative solutions to the challenges of international business.  

The joint delivery of the DMan course offers students the chance to take advantage of a unique partnership, benefit from the best of both institutions’ expertise and to develop and become future intellectual thought-leaders and part of a new breed of Chartered Managers.

Hebei Normal University, China

Hebei Normal University is a key provincial institution that caters to a student population of more than 57,000. The University of Stirling offers a dynamic double award that is jointly delivered both on our campus in Stirling, as well as in Hebei.

Kwansei Gakuin University, Japan

Kwansei Gakuin University (KGU) and the University of Stirling have a longstanding partnership spanning 25 years. KGU is one of the most prestigious private institutions in Japan, and is a selected member of the Japanese Government’s Top Global University Project. The University of Stirling offers a unique double award that is jointly delivered both on campus in Stirling and in Osaka.

Singapore Institute of Management

Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) is one of the country’s premier higher education institutions. Having earned the backing of the Singaporean Government’s Workforce Development Agency, the University of Stirling has partnered with SIM since 2011 to develop a range of business courses designed to offer students a truly global academic experience.

Courses include:

  • BA (Hons) Digital Media

Chengdu University, China

The University of Stirling launched an educational partnership approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education in 2021 with Chengdu University in Chengdu, Sichuan province, China. The partnership is named Chengdu University – Stirling College (CDUSC).

Students will be able to study the following degrees:

  • BA (Hons) Sports Studies
  • BSc (Hons) Data Science
  • BA (Hons) Digital Media

Graduates receive two degrees – one from Stirling and one from Chengdu – at the end of four years of study, providing they fulfil the academic requirements for each institution. The students will also have the option to pursue study at Stirling both as part of their undergraduate programme or for a postgraduate programme.

British University Vietnam (BUV)

The University of Stirling and the British University Vietnam (BUV) have a formal strategic partnership established in 2023 to expand access to high-quality British higher education in Vietnam. This collaboration focuses on joint degree delivery, student exchanges, academic research, and technological innovation in areas such as data science and artificial intelligence. The partnership enables Vietnamese students to earn University of Stirling degrees locally, combining Stirling’s academic expertise with BUV’s state-of-the-art facilities and QAA-accredited British learning environment.

Partnerships in the Middle East

Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates

The University of Stirling has established an international campus in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), United Arab Emirates, offering a number of Stirling courses in business and computing related fields.

All courses are delivered in English and modules are delivered to the same academic standard as at the UK campus. The RAK campus is a truly international learning environment within the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone, and the campus promotes a vibrant, diverse student community.

Partnerships in Europe

Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Spain

Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) is one of the fastest-rising, dynamic young universities in Spain, with impressive international rankings. The University of Stirling has partnered with UPF to develop an innovative joint award delivered both on campus in Stirling and in Barcelona.

Budapest University of Economics and Business (BUEB)

The University of Stirling Business School has partnered with the Budapest University of Economics and Business (BUEB), Hungary’s largest university dedicated to business and economics education, to offer students the opportunity to study in both Scotland and Hungary and graduate with two masters degrees.

BUEB is recognised for its practice-oriented approach and strong international links, and is accredited by the Network of International Business Schools (NIBS).

Double-degree pathway

Students on BUEB’s MSc International Economy and Business can transfer 60 University of Stirling credits to the MSc International Business, completing the remaining 120 credits in Scotland. Conversely, students on Stirling’s MSc International Business who have completed modules worth 120 credits may undertake 42 ECTS credits at BUEB, earning two master’s degrees – one from Stirling and one from BUEB.).
