The Faculty of Health, Sport and Society brings together internationally recognised strengths in its four schools of education and social work, health sciences, public health and society, and sport. Collectively, the Faculty addresses some of the most pressing societal challenges of our time: health and wellbeing, inequality, education and skills, social care, participation, sustainability, and community resilience across the life course.

The creation of the Faculty provides a unique opportunity to amplify impact through interdisciplinarity, while protecting and strengthening the distinctive identities, professional missions and research excellence of its constituent Schools. School of Education and Social Work

At the heart of the School of Education and Social Work is a commitment to bring about a more just world through preparing, supporting and enabling professionals working in schools, colleges, local authorities and communities across Scotland and beyond. We are a thriving community of staff and students who bring a range of expertise from research, scholarship and practice.

Ageing and Dementia

Ageing and Dementia academics at Stirling are helping to improve the quality of life for those experiencing the challenges that many face with growing older. Our research and postgraduate degrees are helping to shape how care is provided.

ISMH

The Institute of Social Marketing and Health (ISMH) at the University of Stirling conducts research into important research into how health is impacted by policy and marketing strategies. We work with the World Health Organization to understand these pressures and we can work to improve behaviours and health.

SACASR

The Salvation Army Centre for Addiction Services and Research (SACASR) at the University of Stirling is a collaboration focussing on the impact of substance use. Our research is designed to help those who are impacted by addiction and substance use problems.

School of Sport

As Scotland's University for Sporting Excellence our School of Sport is the premier sporting school in the country. The school provides a suite of undergraduate programmes alongside a portfolio of Master and Doctorate opportunities. We deliver world-class, interdisciplinary research through the Centre for Research and Innovation in Sport.
