Graduation photography and merchandise
Remember your special day with our official photography pack options and our merchandise which make great souvenirs or gifts for friends and family.
Photography
On graduation day, photography is provided by Ede & Ravenscroft, the official photographer of the University.
There are a variety of photography pack options available for you to buy. We recommend preordering your package on the Ede & Ravenscroft website. You can order your photography at the same time as hiring your academic dress.
Photography studios will be available on the day in Campus Central. Queues can be long, so we advise you to have your photographs taken before your ceremony if time allows.
Do I need to order my photography package before my graduation day?
No, you do not have to pre-order your photography package. However, it will save you time on the day, allowing you to enjoy more of your graduation reception. If queues are busy, those who have pre-ordered may be moved to the front of the queue.
What if I don’t know what photography package I want to order?
We suggest that you order the basic package in advance and then you can upgrade on the day. The basic photography package is currently £15.
Can I include family members in my photography?
Yes, you can ask for group photographs.
What happens if I don’t like my photo?
Ede & Ravenscroft will show you your photos on the day and if you don’t like them you can take them again. If you are still unhappy and no longer wish to purchase your photos, refunds can be given if you have prepaid.
There is an issue with my order, who do I contact?
For any issues with ordering photography, please contact Ede & Ravenscroft directly via their website.
Graduation ceremony photographs
In addition to the photography studios on the day, each graduate will have their photo taken while crossing the stage. These photographs can be viewed after the ceremony.
Taking photos during the ceremony
To avoid obstructing the view of other guests or causing a distraction, members of the audience may take photographs from a seated position. They should not move about the venue or use flash apparatus.
Use of graduation ceremony and reception images
All graduands and guests should be aware that graduation ceremonies and receptions are public events. Each ceremony will be broadcast live on the day, and digital recordings of the ceremony will be available to purchase.
Audio/visual images of the ceremony and graduation reception are publicly available and will often be used in University webpages and publications.
By attending the ceremony, each graduand and guest gives their consent to potentially being filmed and/or photographed.
Buy a USB with a video of your ceremony
You can buy a USB of your ceremony, showing the magic moment when your degree is conferred.
Each USB will be supplied in a presentation case designed by the University. They are available to purchase on the Union Shop website for £14.99 plus postage and packaging. Once you have purchased your USB, you will receive an email from the Union Shop to confirm your ceremony date and time. USBs will then be despatched within 28 working days.
