About me
As Study Skills Tutor I empower students from Access to postgraduate levels by offering tailored support in study skills, including academic writing, research, time management, and exam preparation. In this role I have contributed to fostering an inclusive and effective learning environment by addressing diverse academic needs.
As part of Student Services, I have prepared reading materials to accommodate print-disabled students, using tools like ABBYY FineReader and MS Office. My values centre on fostering equity in learning, and I aim to contribute to organisations that prioritise academic excellence and inclusivity.
I hold a PhD in English Literature from University of Stirling, with a thesis on gender and genre in Anglophone conspiracy fiction. My project was funded by the Carnegie Trust for the Universities of Scotland. I also hold an MLitt in Modernities from University of Glasgow, and a BA Hons in English Studies from University of Stirling. My core competencies include student support, textual analysis, higher education teaching, and literary research.
My research interests include American genre literature of the twentieth century, especially the Gothic, science-fiction, and the thriller; second-wave feminism and feminist theory; conspiracy fiction and conspiracy theories in fiction.
