About me
Khubaib Ahmed, PhD, is a Research Assistant in Artificial Intelligence whose work centres on signal, image and speech processing for edge and assistive technologies. His doctoral research advanced multisensory, cooperative computing for speech enhancement, delivering ultra-low-latency architectures suitable for deployment on constrained devices through pruning and quantisation.
A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, he brings extensive experience in curriculum design, module development and digital pedagogy across Data Science, Machine Learning and Applied AI. He has designed and delivered MSc-level modules, supported programme development, and led VLE transformation for UK and international partners.
His current interests span speech enhancement, multimodal perception, computer vision, and AI-driven analytics, with a focus on developing efficient, robust, and on-device models. Ongoing projects explore neural architecture search, audio-visual learning, and privacy-preserving inference for real-world applications.
