Abstract
The article focuses on the introduction of the Post Graduate Diploma Education (PGDE) as an entry into physical education teaching in Scotland. Edinburgh, Srathclyde and Paisley are the three teacher education institutions (TEI) that offer the qualification with students numbering to only 20s. Stuart Forsyth of Strathclyde University said that 27 undergraduate degrees in Scotland include the words physical education or sport in their degree titles in a claim to feed the PGDE courses
