About me
I am a Lecturer in Initial Teacher Education in the Faculty of Social Sciences, with a specialism in Physical Education. I am also a Lecturer in Sport in the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, with a specialism in Sport Development and Coaching and Sport and Exercise Psychology.
Previous to this I was a P.E teacher, in schools across Scotland, for 15 years. I held leadership positions in Pastoral Care as well as in PE Curriculum Development, Certificated Senior Phase qualifications, Head of Hockey and Tennis, and led whole school events (sports days, swimming galas, hockey festivals).
My professional career interests include sport psychology, psycho-social education, pedagogy, coaching and mentoring, and certificated physical education. I am in the Collaboration Group for Health and Wellbeing, which is involved in developing Scotland's Curriculum for Excellence.
I graduated with Distinction in the MSc Psychology of Sport (Accredited) and continue to have a passion for sport, playing international women's Masters Hockey.
